Rocket Axe is Central Illinois's oldest axe throwing provider having opened our first lanes in 2018. We serve the Central Illinois Area with a Year-Round Axe Throwing Venue for Family, Friends & Corporate Outings. We have a covered lane area during the spring, summer and fall and then move our lanes to our heated patio for the winter. In the winter months we also turn on the LED boards for an even more exciting experience.
Our Pricing is the Lowest in the Country, $20 per person for 1 hour, less for our Corporate Team Events!

How do I book an axe event?
You can book groups of 15 or less through our website. Click here to book.

Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Gift cards are available for anyone looking to give an axe throwing experience as a gift.
Can we order food and drinks while we're there?
Yes. Gill Street has a full restaurant and bar, making it easy to turn axe throwing into a complete night out.
What is your corporate group rate if we have more than 15 people?
We offer the group rate of $250 for 2 hours of throwing with unlimited participation, unless, it is after 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings.
If your group wants to throw after 6:00 p.m. on the Friday or Saturday, the group rate is $400 for the 2 hours.
Can we book axe throwing for a large group or company event?
Yes. Axe throwing is available for group outings, parties, corporate events, and team-building experiences. Contact us directly to discuss larger groups.
What is the minimum and maximum size for group events?
The minimum group size for the 2-hour rate is 12 players.
We can handle groups as large as 100+ people.
You can book groups online for groups less than 16, but call us for groups larger than that.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing is recommended. I would confirm any specific footwear requirement with Gill Street before adding one to the site.
What payments are accepted?
We accept all type of credit cards. This is separate from our venues' bill for food and drink.
We require a non-refundable deposit at the time of the booking.
How long is an axe throwing session?
Regular sessions are typically an hour long.
Group rates will depend on the size of the group and are agreed upon before the event.
Will axes and all necessary equipment be provided?
You betcha! Axes, lanes, and targets will be provided by us
Will someone teach us how to throw axes?
Absolutely!
An Axe Coach will teach you some basic techniques, as well as some important safety rules.
Is there an age requirement?
Our insurance allows minors to throw with their Parent or Guardian 12 years of age and up.
We love when Families toss together! Please remember, we are not a babysitting service, do not leave your child unattended.
How safe is axe throwing?
Surprisingly, it is very safe!
Competitive and recreational axe throwing has been operating in Canada without incident for over 10 years. We have been operating for over 4 years without even handing out a band-aid! Listen to your Axe Coach, and they will keep everything safe for you and everyone in the axe throwing area!
Can we bring our own axes?
If it's an approved WATL or ITFA axe, you are able to throw it.
Our coach will inspect it first and make sure it fits our insurance's standard.
If you don’t know what WATL or ITFA is, don’t plan on bringing a random hatchet out of the garage and expect it to pass inspection.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your event at least a week beforehand, we will refund your deposit. Within a week to 24 hours, we hold your deposit until you're ready to reschedule, but if it’s less than 24 hours, your deposit is forfeited.
Can people come along without throwing?
Absolutely. Friends and family are welcome to come watch and enjoy the experience.
